Specific Phobias
Specific phobias used to be called simple phobias, but, because some were not so simple, the
reference was amended. Specific phobias include phobias that are limited to a specific thing or
event. Examples would be a fear of spiders, or heights. Fear of flying or driving are both specific
phobias.  Often I treat these phobias in conjunction with some other phobia that is more
problematic, but not always. I have treated people for fear of:

Bees
Birds
Blood
Cockroaches
Dogs
Needles
Snakes
Toads

Driving
Fire works (watching, not using)
Flying
Heights (edges)
Horseback riding
Random things falling from the sky (yep, it happened)
Storms
Thunder

While this list is not exhaustive, it is representative of most specific things people fear. If you
have a phobia and it is causing you problems, give me a call. I can usually give you an estimate
of how long it might take to get you past it.
